We are still more than a year away from the start of tolling, but it is time to start the conversation the last time we had tolling in our area was 1946 when tolls ended on the Clark Memorial Bridge spent a long time the tolling system#39’re talking about today is much different this is the first public briefing on the new all-electronictolling system today you#39’re going to learn about how the new system is going to work what#39’s ahead and most importantly how is it going to affect you now this is pretty exciting Tokyo#39’re also going to get the first look at the new tolling system brand that#39’s kind of WoW moment that#39;coming along soon that brand truly represents the region and brings our unique identity to the process Jim and David will do the honors of unveiling the brand in a few moments as community we have a lot to celebrate very soon as you know our new downtown bridge is going to open to traffic just weeks away from that happening very soon know how excited drivers are in about year from now a little more we#39’ll have the new East End bridge open and unimproved Kennedy bridge drivers can seethe finish line it#39’s in sight with these new bridges drivers will experience many new benefits our community is going to be poised for progress like never before without a toll system in place to helps pay for our new bridges such benefit sand progress though simply would not be possible you are here today because we know you and many of the people who meet you every day have a lot of questions this morning we#39’re here to talk all things tolling so that when you#39’re asked, and we know you will be you can share accurate information with other members of the community their#39’s a lot to walkabout so let#39’s get started it#39’s my pleasure to hand things off to our two presenters I introduced them earlier Jim Stark within jock and David tally without these gentlemen has spent a lot of time working on the new system Jim and David take it away we David and myself and our great team can#39’t stress enough the importance of this unique partnership that exists between Indiana Kentucky that#39’s why we are here today task leadership from both sides of the river for your support and making helping us make this tolling system work this project is much more than a highway improvement it is a game-changer for the entire region improved mobility will create new opportunities for industrial commercial and retail and residential development these infrastructure improvements will make us more competitive in attracting businesses recent study from the EconomicDevelopment Research Group E DRG from Boston Massachusetts projected uneconomic impact of more than eighty-seven billion dollars over the next 30years let me say it again 87 billion dollars with the completion of this project over the next 30 years and potential gain of over 15,000 jobshare#39’s unique is that over the last couple of years of construction we#39;real ready seeing the economic...
